Regular Examinations
At your examination, we’ll perform a visual exam of your teeth and your soft tissues and check for any signs of gum disease or cavities. You may also receive a screening for oral cancer. Your exam will often include x-rays so we can get a good look at what is happening beneath your gum tissue and inside your teeth. We also often take pictures of your mouth using an intra-oral camera, which allows us to easily show you any problems we identify.
If we spot anything concerning during your exam, we’ll discuss it with you and work with you to create a treatment plan. Ultimately, you always have the final say in your dental care.
Gentle and Thorough Cleanings
We recommend twice-yearly cleanings for most of our patients. In some cases, more frequent cleanings may be indicated, and we will discuss this with you if we believe that additional cleanings would provide a clear benefit for you.
